Hal announces he does not need to go to school this week. Kiki asks, what about the two days next week that mark the end of the school year? Hal says that goes without being said that he meant this week and those two days. Before Kiki could state Hal was going to school, he quickly stated his reasons:
- no work is being done, it's the end of the year!
- I'm not coming back here ever again since I'm changing schools, so what is the point?
- I need a break before you make me go to summer school!
Kiki stated that just like she has to go to her job every day whether she feels like it or not and whether she is learning anything new or not, and as a student, going to school is Hal's job. Case closed.
