Changes

Late at night, Kiki and Da compared notes. Kiki had just returned from a seminar in Boston with Dr. Isabelle Henault, North American sexologist presenting from her book, Asperger's Syndrome & Sexuality: From Adolescence to Adulthood. The information presented was very informative and Kiki came home with useful information regarding her developing young man with Asperger's. Kiki felt slightly ahead of the curve given her frankness and directness regarding sex with all three of her children and with her diligence in providing robust social skills therapy for Hal over the years since his diagnosis. Kiki shared with Da some of her conversation with Hal and what she learned during the seminar and how Da could be supportive of Hal as he continued to evolve.

Da shared that during horse lessons, Hal had both a new trainer (expected) and a new horse (unexpected) and Hal did really well with both changes. Hal's previous trainer took Da aside and let him know that there was a horse show coming up that their students would be participating in that included a therapy class. She felt Hal might be ready to ride in a show hosted by a different club. When Da presented the idea to Hal, he did not balk at the idea. Da and Kiki both felt proud of the progress Hal was making.
